"COMMITTING TO A POSITIVE LIFESTYLE"
COLORADO-WYOMING PETROLEUM MARKETERS ASSOCIATION MEETING
SILVERTREE HOTEL, SNOWMASS, COLORADO AUGUST 22, 1994

There are two major topics: change and potential.

More important than physical well-being is mental understanding. Endurance and stamina are created within.

10 years ago, it was no pain, no gain. Now it’s a logical exercise prescription to keep strength high, muscles toned and firm so they can take a load off the skeletal system so the bones are supported.

Aerobic does not equal strength.

High metabolic rates come from keeping muscles toned and firm.

We don’t like to keep score. We don’t like to evaluate ourselves.

A key issue is potential. Evaluate what you think is your key potential in a number of areas. Understand to what degree are you living up to your true potential.

Look at these areas and do a lifestyle potential evaluation. To what percentage are you living up to your true potential? Job/career Personal relationships Financial well-being Mental well-being Spiritual Well-Being Physical well-being The 100% is YOUR evaluation of 100% — not an Olympic athlete’s, a successful business executive’s. It’s your personal potential.

You need to balance all of these areas — plus, maybe, some more. It’s like riding herd. They’re all moving along, but something slips back. You’ve got to focus on it, bring it back up with the rest of the group. You’ve got to consistently adjust, change, and keep things going.
