JILL CONNER BROWNE

BOSS QUEEN OF THE SWEET POTATO QUEENS

WESTERN PETROLEUM MARKETERS ASSOCIATION CONVENTION
MIRAGE HOTEL, LAS VEGAS, NV. FEBRUARY 18, 2004

By and by, I got older — as we all do when we're not paying attention.

I knew I was destined to be a queen. There's only one problem. There's no turnover.

You should do what you wish you had done when you're 50. Now that I'm 51, I've moved that up to the nursing home. And, basically, what that means is to get out there and have a good time.

I am satanically lazy.

If you find yourself in a desperate situation, pay attention. God is trying to get your attention. Sometimes you have to get blasted out of that place you're in.

Motto: never wear panties to a party. You wouldn't wear a mask if you wanted to be kissed.

What have I learned? You all did get here with a gift that is yours and yours alone. It may not be the one you wanted. But embrace that and use that don't disparage it. Whatever your talent is, if you lift it up, God will honor it.

Understand the power of play. You don't get too old to play. You get too old because you stop.

Choice is the most important word in our language. If you don't like it, change it.

Live your dreams. It's much more fun to live them than to dream.

Well-behaved women rarely make history.
